COOK COUNTY, IL – A 41-year-old Niles man has been charged with Possession of Child Pornography after investigators found he viewed sexually explicit images of underage children through social media, Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced today.

On Wednesday, August 3, Sheriff’s Police Special Victims Unit investigators arrested Mark Kuehn after they received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about pornographic images of children under the age of 13 found on a social media account which investigators determined belonged to him.

After being issued his Miranda warning, Kuehn told investigators he used his cell phone to view and save child pornography. Forensic analysis of his cell phone revealed that he was in possession of nearly two dozen pornographic images of children as young as five.

Kuehn, of the 6900 block of Rosemary Lane in Niles, appeared today at the Skokie Courthouse where he was issued a $300,000 D Bond on charges of Possession of Child Pornography, a Class 2 felony.

The public is reminded that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty by the government in a court of law.
