Incident Command Team
The ICT (Incident Command Team) coordinates regular, focused sweep operations. The ICT also deploys in the event of catastrophe or major emergency, and the mobile Command Bus acts as a National Incident Management System-compliant Command Post.
Official liaison to MABAS and ILEAS (regional mutual aid task forces).

Hostage Negotiation Team
Specially trained hostage negotiators interact with armed and barricaded subjects to negotiate the safe return of hostages/kidnapping victims and to save the life of suicidal, barricaded subjects intent on killing themselves or others.

Treatment Response Team
Operating under the auspices of the Chief Public Safety Officer, the Cook County Sheriff’s Treatment Response Team is a social service program embedded in a law enforcement agency. In this interdisciplinary team, highly trained police officers save the lives of overdose victims and refer them to licensed mental health/substance abuse professionals for treatment.

The Treatment Response Team assists individuals and families impacted by substance abuse and mental health concerns.

Public Integrity Unit
Under the Office of the Chief Public Safety Officer, the Public Integrity Unit is headed by an investigator who specializes in public corruption cases (including those involving financial fraud). Investigates and seeks prosecution of corrupt public officials on behalf of their municipal employer.
