Cold Case Records

The body of Alma Mendez was discovered in the water of the Sauk Trail Lake on October 30th 2007. The victim had suffered multiple injuries and her death was ruled a homicide. The victim was an avid runner who ran in the forest preserves on a daily basis. The victim would usually run in the early morning hours but ran later in the day on October 28th, 2007, the day the family reported her missing. The victim was last seen on the path area in the forest preserve. The victim's vehicle was also located at the forest preserve.
