16 Individuals in Custody Face Mob Action Charges Following Jail Fight

Sixteen Cook County Jail individuals in custody found to have been involved in a fight on a maximum security housing tier have been indicted for mob action, Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced today.

The fight was reported at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 16 in Division 9. Two individuals in custody were taken to area hospitals for treatment of injuries including puncture wounds. Others involved were treated at the jail. None of the individuals in custody sustained life threatening injuries. A homemade weapon was recovered.

The Grand Jury on Friday indicted the following individuals in custody:

  • Eddie Howlett, 25
  • Miguel Webster, 23
  • Matthew Cobbs, 24
  • Garlin Minor, 24
  • Robert Morales, 28
  • Sylvester White, 23
  • Eugene Spencer, 26
  • Larry Woods, 39
  • James Ford, 29
  • James Wilson, 34
  • Nicacio Munoz, 28
  • Antonio Davis, 28
  • Devonte Marsh, 22

The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty by the government in a court of law.
