About the Bright Space Project:
This Bright Spaces project is made possible through a partnership of the Cook County Sheriff's Office, The Department of Women's Justice Services, the Cook County Commission on Women's Issues, Hal Kaplan of Kaplan Early Learning Company, Bright Horizons Family Solutions, and the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.
The Cook County Sheriff's Department of Women's Justice Services Bright Space project is the first mother and child contact visiting space in the country that is located in a jail setting. The staff is dedicated to the preservation of mother and child bonding, and the room has been designed to allow the mothers to maintain dignity in the presence of their children while still in the custody of the Sheriff's Office.
