Detectives assigned to the Jail Team investigate crimes that occur within the confines of the Cook County Jail. With an average daily population of 10,000 inmates, the Jail Team investigates more than 500 cases a year, including fights and thefts among inmates, and visitors who attempt to bring contraband into the Jail.
