The Criminalistics Section or Evidence Technicians (ETs) are the “CSI” of the Cook County Sheriff’s Police.  These specially trained technicians aid investigators by identifying, collecting and preserving evidence at crime scenes.  Combining their responses to requests from the Sheriff’s Police, local suburban agencies and task forces, the ETs process more than 500 crime scenes a year. Their meticulous efforts are a large part of the successful prosecution of thousands of cases.
