SHERIFF’S POLICE TO CONDUCT ROADSIDE SAFETY CHECKPOINT IN TINLEY PARK
Wednesday, October 27, 2010— In an effort to curb dangerous or drunk driving, the Cook County Sheriff’s Police, in conjunction with the Tinley Park Police and E.M.A. unit, will be conducting a random roadside safety checkpoint on Friday, October 29, 2010 during the hours 8:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m, near 159th Street and 80th Avenue in Tinley Park, according to the Office of Sheriff Thomas J. Dart.
During the safety check, vehicles will be stopped randomly based on the flow of traffic. Drivers will be screened for proper licensing and registration while all vehicles will be checked for equipment and other violations. Also, any suspicious passengers will be subject to scrutiny by police.
The Sheriff’s Random Roadside Safety Check Program is conducted regularly across Cook County in an effort to promote safe driving.
