Home > Press Page

Monday, June 29, 2009 — Three Chicago residents were arrested last week for attempting to sell cocaine to undercover officers, according to the office of Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart.

Saul Saavedra, 23, of the 2800 block of north Mobile, Juan Montes-DeOca, 22, of the 2900 block of North New England and Hilaro Hernandez, 25, of the 2800 block of north Merrimac, were charged with delivery of a controlled substance, following a joint investigation by officers from the Cook County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit, agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration and investigators from the Cook County State’s Attorneys’ Office.

Investigators developed information that these three individuals were involved in trafficking cocaine on the northwest side of Chicago.  Further investigation resulted in the individuals offering to sell undercover officers a half kilo of cocaine, which has an estimated street value of $163,800.

Saavedra, Montes-DeOca and Hernandez each received a $75,000 bond and are currently being held in the Cook County Jail.
