SHERIFF’S SEARCH WARRANT LEADS
TO RECOVERY OF SUSPECTED
COCAINE, WEAPONS, CASH

—Members of the Cook County Sheriff’s Gang Unit recovered approximately six kilograms of suspected cocaine, six firearms, and approximately $60,000 in cash at a residence located in Chicago’s west side, Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said today.
The items were located Thursday at approximately 6 p.m. during the execution of a search warrant at a residence on Menard Avenue. The six firearms recovered included four assault weapons and two handguns.
One person, 33-year-old Lawrence Gallion of Chicago, was arrested. He has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and unlawful use of a weapon.
Gallion received a $75,000 bond during his court appearance today at the George N. Leighton Criminal Court Building.
Sheriff Dart reminds the public that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty by the government in a court of law.
