IN SHOOTING DEATH

Home > Press Page

Friday, January 25, 2014 —A Ford Heights teenager has been charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of a 17-year-old, Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said today.

Paris Walker, 16, was denied bond today during a hearing at the Markham Courthouse.
According to the Sheriff’s Police investigation, Walker got into a verbal argument with Malik McMillian at approximately 7:35 p.m. Wednesday in the 1400 block of Ambassador Lane in Ford Heights. When McMillian, of East Hazel Crest, attempted to flee, Walker shot him. After McMillian fell to the ground, according to the investigation, Walker shot the victim several more times.

Sheriff’s Police took Walker into custody late Wednesday. He was charged with first degree murder early this morning.

Sheriff Dart reminds the public that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty by the government in a court of law.
