TEACHER ARRESTED ON PROSTITUTION-RELATED CHARGES

Home > Press Page

Thursday, December 10, 2009 — A Lane Tech High School teacher was one of two people arrested this week on prostitution related charges, according to the office of Sheriff Thomas J. Dart.

Scott Carlson, 41, of the 2300 block of West Thomas, Chicago, who is a computer teacher at Lane Tech High School, and Jessica Shea, 21, of the 2900 block of West 56th Street, Chicago, were arrested Tuesday after Shea offered to have sex with an undercover officer in exchange for money.  Carlson was arrested, while he waited in the parking lot for Shea, because the hotel room was rented in his name.

The Sheriff’s Police undercover officer had responded to Shea’s ad on a social networking website under the “escort” section.  Shea and the officer agreed to meet at a motel near Midway Airport Tuesday evening.  Once in the room, Shea offered to have sex with the undercover officer for money, at which time she was placed under arrest.  A receipt for the room showed that it was rented to and paid for by Carlson.

Shea was charged with prostitution and Carlson was charged with keeping a place of prostitution.  Each posted $1,000 bond and were released.  Each has a separate court date of December 30th at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
