Home > Press Page

Wednesday, December 2, 2009 — A Matteson teenager is being held on $100,000 bond at the Cook County Jail after being charged with sexual assault, according to the office of Sheriff Thomas J. Dart.

Cleophus C. Mooney, 17, of the 700 block of Violet, Matteson, and a student at Rich Central High School, followed a fellow student home from their bus stop on November 25th.  Mooney then forced his way into the girl’s home and proceeded to sexually assault her. The victim is a special education at Rich Central High School.

Mooney was arrested November 30th, after school officials helped to identify him from his nickname of “CC”.

Mooney’s next court date is December 16th at the Markham Courthouse.
