INFORMATION SOUGHT TO IDENTIFY DRIVER IN CHICAGO HEIGHTS HIT AND RUN

Home > Press Page

Monday, December 30, 2013 —Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart is asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a hit and run that critically injured a man in Chicago Heights.

At approximately 6 p.m. on Dec. 28 a vehicle struck a 53-year-old man on 26th Street near Euclid Avenue in unincorporated Chicago Heights, according to the preliminary investigation. The man was walking westbound on 26th Street, along the edge of the roadway, behind another man at the time.

A gray, passenger side-view mirror, consistent with that from a Ford Taurus, was found near the victim.

The victim remains in critical condition at an area hospital.

Sheriff Dart asks anyone with information to call the Sheriff’s Police Investigations Unit at 708-865-4896.
