SHERIFF’S AND STREAMWOOD POLICE TO CONDUCT JOINT DUI CHECKPOINT

Thursday, August 12, 2010— In an effort to curb dangerous or drunk driving, the Cook County Sheriff’s Police and the Streamwood Police Department will conduct a random roadside safety checkpoint on the 400 block of East Irving Road in Streamwood during the evening hours of Friday, August 13th according to the Office of Sheriff Thomas J. Dart.

During the safety check, vehicles will be stopped randomly based on the flow of traffic.  Drivers will be screened for proper licensing and registration while all vehicles will be checked for equipment and other violations.   Also, any suspicious passengers will be subject to scrutiny by police.

The Sheriff’s Random Roadside Safety Check Program is conducted regularly across Cook County in an effort to promote safe driving.
