An early morning traffic stop, in Stickney Township resulted in the seizure of nearly 4 ½ pounds of crystal methamphetamine, according to the Office of Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart.

Ernie Muriel, 30, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, after he was stopped for speeding by Cook County Sheriff’s Police.

At approximately 2 a.m., today, Muriel was pulled over by a Sheriff’s Police patrol officer for travelling 46 mph in a 30 mph zone, near the intersection of 55th Street and Central.  After being pulled over, Muriel presented the officer with a fake Michigan driver’s license.
