CARPENTERSVILLE MAN ARRESTED FOR PERFORMING SEX ACTS FOR “TEEN”

Home > Press Page

Monday, September 14, 2009 — A Carpentersville man is set to appear in court on Tuesday after being arrested for transmitting harmful materials to a minor, a class 4 Felony, according to the Office of Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart.

Nathan E. Thurber, 30, of the 6200 block of Providence Drive, was arrested after a series of online conversations with someone thought was a 14-year-old girl, but was actually a detective from the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Child Exploitation Unit.  During one of these conversations, Thurber masturbated on his webcam for the 14-year-old girl to watch.  Thurber, a married father of two, was taken into custody last week without incident.  He was arrested  at his place of business in Elgin, where it was determined he had been having the online chats and utilizing the webcam.

Thurber is free on  $25,000 and his next court date is Tuesday, September 15th at the Maywood Courthouse.
