MAN ARRESTED FOR BASEBALL BAT BEATING

Wednesday, August 14, 2013 A 24-year-old Palatine man has been charged with aggravated battery for seriously beating another man with a baseball bat, Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said today.

Cook County Sheriff’s Police were called to the 1500 block of Norway Lane in unincorporated Palatine Township about 11:55 p.m. on Saturday following reports of a fight.

Albino Damian-LopezInvestigators learned that a man, later identified as Albino Damian-Lopez, hit a 27-year-old man’s face with a baseball bat during an argument and hit the victim again after he fell to the ground before running away.

Palatine Fire Department took the victim to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries to his left eye and face.

Damian-Lopez was arrested the next day after he turned himself in at Sheriff’s Police Headquarters in Maywood.

His bond was set at $125,000 on Tuesday at the Rolling Meadows Courthouse. Damian-Lopez’s next scheduled court date is Sept. 5 at the Rolling Meadows courthouse.
Sheriff Dart reminds the public that the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty by the government in a court of law.
