Saturday, March 9, 2013The search for a 22-year-old man suspected of beating and stabbing his mother ended with his arrest in Flossmoor last night, announced Sheriff Thomas J. Dart.

Blake SpringsteenBlake Springsteen was taken into custody Thursday night by the Flossmoor Police Department after receiving a tip he was in the area. He was arrested without incident.
The Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department is seeking charges against the Homewood man.

Springsteen is suspected of beating his 46-year-old mother in the 3600 block of Flossmoor Road in unincorporated Homewood. He then reportedly bound her, put her in the trunk of a car and drove her to the Village of Crete. There he stabbed her multiple times and left her in a ditch in the 900 block of Columbia Street.

A warrant for his arrest was issued Wednesday and he was taken into custody Thursday evening. The victim remains in stable condition.

Sheriff Dart would like to thank the Flossmoor Police Department and the public for their assistance in locating this suspect.
