- Change in conduct or personality
- Overly affectionate behavior exhibited toward adult strangers
- Sexual language or sexual knowledge that is inappropriate for age/developmental level
- Awareness/touching of genitals
- Attempts to get other kids to engage in sexual acts
- Frequently stained, torn, or bloody clothing (especially underclothing)
- Presence of sexually transmitted diseases, urinary tract infection, or yeast infection
- Withdrawn or depressed Bruises or bleeding in the genital area
- Dresses in layers of clothing
- Poor self-esteem or lack of self-confidence
Please note: These signs and symptoms are merely warning indicators. If a child displays one, some, or all of the above indicators, further attention and exploration is strongly recommended.
