SPECIAL FEATURE
The Youth Services Department provides an online brochure of Internet Safety Tips that includes a series of guidelines for your children to follow anytime they go “on-line.”

The department sponsors these popular programs:

Graffiti Posse 773-869-4710
The Department sponsors a graffiti removal program which is available to all property owners in suburban and unincorporated Cook County. The Graffiti Posse uses an environmentally safe, high powered blasting machine to remove graffiti from buildings.

Jail Tours
Tours of the Cook County Department of Corrections are provided for schools and community groups.

Child Safety Program
This program, designed for children ages 4-7, offers an interactive learning environment that is both fun and informative. The main feature is a miniature village that the participants pedal small go-carts through as they learn the rules-of-the-road and important bicycle safety tips. A number of other issues are addressed, such as what to do in an emergency and how to react when confronted by a stranger.

Senior Safety Awareness Program
A program designed to give tips to senior citizens on personal and home safety, as well as how to protect themselves against frauds and scams.

Law Enforcement Medal of Honor
This annual award ceremony recognizes excellence in law enforcement by honoring police officers from throughout Cook County for meritorious service and acts of heroism.

Senior Medal of Honor
This annual award ceremony provides the opportunity to recognize the many committed senior citizens from throughout Cook County for their extraordinary service and dedication to their community.
